Are you a partly qualified accountant looking to build hands-on experience in financial reporting and Group accounting within a dynamic organisation? GO Group is seeking an Associate Accountant to support the Finance function across GO plc and its subsidiaries.

This role is ideal for an ACCA student or accounting graduate, offering exposure to monthly reporting, balance sheet processes, fixed assets accounting and Group reporting, while working closely with experienced finance professionals in a supportive and collaborative environment.

  • A Bachelor university degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline and/or currently studying towards an ACCA qualification.
  • A sound understanding of accounting principles and basic financial reporting.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills and a willingness to further develop reporting and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to work.
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to support peak reporting periods such as month-end and audit cycles.

If this describes you, here’s a glimpse of what you will be doing in this position:

  • Supporting the Finance function with a focus on financial reporting and internal controls.
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including posting journals and maintaining supporting schedules and workings.
  • Updating and maintaining the fixed assets register, including additions, disposals, depreciation calculations and reconciliation to the general ledger.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial information for Group reporting and supporting the financial consolidation process.
  • Preparing reporting schedules and analyses to support monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
  • Assisting in the preparation of notes to the annual financial statements and other statutory reporting disclosures.
  • Reviewing and analysing cost items within assigned areas and preparing variance explanations.
  • Performing bank reconciliations and supporting treasury-related reporting.
  • Assisting during external audit processes, including the annual audit, interim review and June review.
  • Supporting the preparation of ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested.
  • Carrying out other duties as assigned in line with Group requirements.
